I lit a candle for you my love thought small and cheap,it's all I have to give.
But you know my dear there is not a star in heaven, that burns hotter, nor an ocean larger, that that black candle.
There is no mountain more beautiful, nor more powerful than its flickering flame. Because with the stroke of a match I put my love into it's fire, the love I feel for you.
So there will never be a palace as majestic, with an emperor half as wealthy, as a single flash of light from that small black candle.
wow! i like it. it's got really beautiful imagery
Cheers I wasn't sure at all
confidence is the hardest thing when you're a creator.
hmm we are wracked with self doubt its horrible.
so true that, i was 16 when i started songwriting, but i was 20 when i first showed my work.
yes, self-doubt is horrible but Goblin, this does have beautiful imagery and you are an excellent writer.
Maybe? it's possibly a bit twee which is not on for a goth..smile
goblin, the point of being a goth is that you're not conforming, so, why should you completely conform as a goth? you should be happy that you have this unique individual talent and ability. most people however who think they don't conform are conforming to nonconformity anyhow...how does one get away from it?
True but there are certain rules if you like, that you have to follow as a Goth, in your appearance and music ect..in many ways Goth is very superficial but rest assured I'm not.
Hmm interesting question I suppose you could try to go to the limits of the extreme, or you invent something that's never been tried, or you could do as we do and ignore the shallow superficial aspects of Goth ect, and just revel in the more creative side.
Goblin, what kind of Goth do you consider yourself? the superficial goths are often called baby goths and they listen to nothing but heavy rock and they dress in black and do interesting things with the appearance of themselves. the other kind of goth is the normal goth, who i feel are far more accepting. i have some good goth friends, and they often liken me to a goth myself, because of the way i think and my writing and my dress...so i don't think your superficial if you're a goth, just a baby one.
Your right and the baby goths are frowned upon by those who really care about the scene and the direction it's taking,I'd say in all honesty I have gravitated more to the vampire scene, and quite extreme, I've always enjoyed pushing things to the limit and seeing how much is too much..Smile.Sadly We have experienced a great deal of superficial crap from goths, particularly in Hellfire, a store catering for our tastes, they judge you from the minute you walk in the door. It's always been intrinsicly linked with the scene as it so visual.
Hmmm, that's not really surprising. goth stores here do that too, and, invariably they employ goths of the baby perswasion
Well some in Hellfire are ok they have since explained that they were worried incase I hurt myself, as the store, and often the floor,is crowded with stuff.
But we have come across these creatures who judge you with cruel intent.
yes, ther's certainly a lot of those. i'm astounded by some of the people in the musical community that i freequent. A lot of them ask me to do things, like help them write songs, play and jam with them then they go behind my back and talk utter nonsence about my condition or about the fact i'll never amount to anything...madness.
I think they may be jealous of your talent and feeling inadequate at their lack of it...if your talking about Goth, the scene is polluted by bitchiness.
